The Opening Bounce

Here we are, the New Year has arrived, and so has AFL Fantasy.

One thing you’ll immediately notice is that your salary cap has increased to 12.6 million (up from 11 million in 2017). Before you get too excited, so has the price of players. In fact, the league leading fantasy pig, Tom Mitchell, will set you back a lazy $896,000. For the nerds amongst you, the magic number for this year is a smidgen about 7,000 (about 1,000 more than this time last year).

The basement price for rookies is $170,000 this year. The most expensive first year player, Cameron Raynor, is $270,000, and every draft pick is $2,000 cheaper subsequently from the last. I.e. Andrew Brayshaw is $268,000 and Paddy Dow is $266,000, and so-forth.

Anyway, time for you to head over to AFL Fantasy and start putting together your team.
