This Week in AFL Fantasy

Round 4 – Who stays and who goes.

During the first half-a-dozen rounds of the season it is about getting the rookie right and fixing up glaring errors. It’s the time to create a solid base not chase points. Case-In-Point – a number of coaches flicked off Zach Merrett this week to see him post 120+. You should back premium players you put research into during the pre-season – as they usually come good.

Meanwhile, money growth for rookies is always best at the start – each week without the best rookies is money lost (and so the longer it will take you to complete your team).

Break-Evens

Always go for the rookies with the lowest break evens:

Player Price Position Games Average Break Even
Mitch Crowden $247,000 MID, FOR 3 58.7 -12
Jordan Cunico $259,000 MID 1 97.0 -8
Sam Murray $351,000 DEF 4 76.3 -3
Tim English $341,000 FOR, RUC 4 72.3 -1
Jeremy Finlayson $352,000 DEF, MID 4 76.0 0
Matt Guelfi $193,000 FOR 1 64.0 2
Willie Rioli $210,000 FOR 3 43.7 2
